The Alibi is an upcoming Philippine romance-suspense / psychological thriller series that weaves together intrigue, betrayal, and emotional intensity, set to premiere November 7, 2025, exclusively on Prime Video. The show reunites beloved actors Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, marking their third major project together. The creative team includes directors FM Reyes and Jojo Saguin, writer Danica Domingo, and Dreamscape Entertainment as the production company.

Vincent Cabrera (played by Paulo Avelino) is the heir to a powerful news empire, carrying all the privileges, expectations, and scandals that come with his family name. His life turns upside down when he becomes the prime suspect in the murder of his rival, Walter Cunanan (Sam Milby). Desperate to protect both his reputation and his legacy, Vincent concocts a daring plan: he hires Stella Morales (Kim Chiu), a talented dancer with her own painful past, to be his alibi — to claim that she was with him the night the crime took place, covering up his alibi in exchange for money. What begins as a transactional arrangement between two strangers soon becomes far more complicated emotionally and morally.
Stella has her own history of hurt and secrets, and as she steps into Vincent’s world of power, sin, and influence, the deal forces her into dangerous territory. As lies accumulate, as loyalties are tested, and as hidden sins of influential families surface, the initial ‘alibi’ arrangement begins to unravel. Trust erodes, memories are questioned, truth becomes a slippery concept, and love itself becomes both weapon and vulnerability.
The series promises “shocking twists at every turn” and explores the razor-thin line between love, betrayal, and survival. It asks piercing questions: how far will someone go to protect what they love? What truths are worth burying? And when deception becomes necessary, what is the cost to the soul?

Supporting characters include members of the Cabrera family — those who uphold the dynasty, those who resent it, and those caught in between. Power, privilege, and the stain of past wrongs play a large role. Stella’s involvement doesn’t just risk her own safety but threatens to expose the hidden corruption and heartbreak woven into both her life and Vincent’s.
Visually and tonally, The Alibi is being presented as edgy and intense. Promotional materials show a world stained by secrets — police files, blood. Vincent is portrayed as a man cornered by guilt and legacy; Stella as someone torn between the desire for redemption and the pull of revenge.
In short, The Alibi seems set to be not just a story of romance and mystery, but a character-driven exploration of truth, identity, and the dangerous places love can lead us when wrapped in lies. It promises a world where every secret has a price and every lie has a ripple effect.
